Small Pond Arts hosts self-directed artist residencies on our 87-acre farm.
Artists can focus on their own artistic projects or participate in collaborative artistic pursuits.
We welcome participation in our ongoing festivals and events.

Located just 5 minutes from the town of Picton but completely surrounded by nature, visitors
to Small Pond will find that it is a place where creativity is valued and nurtured, where artists
of all disciplines can unwind and concentrate on their craft, free from the pressures of daily life.
At Small Pond, artists are the big fish.

We warmly welcome puppeteers, poets, painters, singers, dancers, sculptors, musicians,
fire spinners, film-makers, stilt-walkers, writers, thinkers, gardeners, photographers, bakers,
builders, makers, doers, dreamers, and creative people of all stripes who are interested in an
imaginative retreat to work, laugh, exchange ideas and learn new skills. Our communal living
approach ensures that our prices can remain affordable; we value living simply and sustainably,
and we hope you will, too.

Our 150-year-old home has four guest bedrooms, and our 87 acre farm has plenty of room
for camping. We have two studio spaces, The Art Barn and The Workshop, both of which
can be used from May through September.

The prices include 3 basic meals per day, mostly vegetarian,
and much of our food is grown in our garden.

Residents are expected to contribute not only to the creative life of Small
Pond, but the practical one as well. You'll be expected to do about one hour
a day of cooking, cleaning, gardening, or other chores. Wi-fi is available.
For everyone's comfort, this is a pet-free and smoke-free home.

-   Tell us why you want to undertake a residency and what you hope to accomplish.

-   Tell us a bit about yourself and your artwork;
    feel free to email photos or links.

-   Please indicate whether you prefer indoor accommodation or camping.

-   Provide us with the dates you'd like to stay; if possible, provide alternative dates.

-   Give us your complete contact information, including address and phone numbers.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking of your residency,
payable by cheque or money order in Canadian Dollars.
Remainder is due upon check-in by Visa, Mastercard, Interac, cash, or cheque.

GROUP RENTALS

Group rentals are available throughout the year to arts groups.
Need a place to write some new songs with your band?
Workshop a play?
Retreat with your creative staff or board of directors?
For those who wish to avoid cooking or cleaning, we can provide private
rentals with a variety of catering options.
